This Halloween week, October 23rd through the 31st, marks the final week of the ConnectSmart Challenge, where taking just 2 carpool trips will give you a chance to be 1 of 10 winners to win a $100 gift card from making a more sustainable travel choice by carpooling! That’s right, simply use ConnectSmart’s Instant Carpooling or Scheduled Carpooling feature to show that you’ve shared a ride and you'll be entered to win! However, we hope you’ll join us in supporting environmental protection and greener lifestyles throughout the whole year. In thanks for your participation, we’re rewarding you for some of the easy actions you can take to contribute to improving our air quality in the Greater Houston Area!
Throughout the beginning of October, you were entered into our challenge by completing five trips per week, but for the final week, we are focusing specifically on carpool trips. If you complete two carpools between Monday and next Tuesday you’ll be entered to be one of ten winners to win $100 worth of Coins which can be used to purchase gift cards or METRO tickets just for carpooling with a friend, family, or coworker! Carpooling is one of the easiest ways to reduce the harmful emissions of driving (not to mention traffic congestion). Throughout October, the more you carpool, the more rewards you'll earn.
Here’s how it works:
First, download the Houston ConnectSmart app for your Android or iPhone and create an account. The next time you are sharing a ride somewhere, have everyone in the car open the ConnectSmart app on their phones and follow the instructions below.
To use the Instant Carpool feature, everyone in the carpool will need to tap the Carpool button at the bottom of the landing page, then tap Instant Carpool.
Drivers, enter your origin and destination, then present the QR code to your carpool passengers to scan with their ConnectSmart app to confirm they’re aboard.
Riders, simply scan your driver’s QR code. Buckle up--you’re ready to roll!
After completing an Instant or Scheduled Carpool you’ll be one trip closer to joining the challenge. So, fill up those seats and fatten your wallet!
Here are some more details on the challenge:
Week 3: In order to qualify for the challenge, you must take at least 2 carpool trips (whether it be an instant carpool or a scheduled social carpool), each carpool trip after the second is an extra entry.
There is no limit to the number of trips you can take and thus, the number of entries you can qualify for within the given week.
You may not create multiple accounts to try and earn additional entries.
